HOTEL PRAHA is designed and operated with ecology in mind. The main portion of the hotel is a reconstruction of two old abandoned buildings, so construction revitalized a brownfield, requiring only a small number of newly produced bricks. The original 50 cm thick brick walls were enriched with 10 cm of heat insulation, which makes the building highly energy preserving. Brick walls with high heat accumulation abilities and blackout curtains mean that the interior of the hotel is nicely cool, even during hot summers. Hot water is provided by solar collectors on the roof, and is stored in two thousand litre tanks.
